Komen Race for the Cure

The Susan G. Komen Foundation is the premier organization in the United States raising breast cancer awareness with a goal of early detection. They are dedicated to curing breast cancer at every stage. We hope to see you at this year's Race on June 7th in Hartford, Connecticut's Bushnell Park.

Since 1982, My Sister's Place has provided a safe, secure and supportive environment and facility for displaced women and their children. As a refuge from domestic violence, MSP's has a positive and enabling staff that helps these families get back on their feet and start their lives over.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to provide affordable shelter wit the philosophy that people need a hand up, not a hand out. Since 1976, Habitat has built and rehabilitated 150,000 homes, working hand-in-hand with the families in need who will move into the home being built.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

This is an organization that seeks to provide pre-paid calling cards to American troops serving overseas. Old cell phones and their chargers are turned in to the organizations official collection points/drop off points, and then recycled. The proceeds from the recycling are then used to buy the phone cards. An easy way to both recycle and to help some young soldiers call home. VERTEX is a registered drop-off site.

New England Air Museum

The New England Air museum, located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks Connecticut, is one of the top institutions of its type in the United States. In addition to an amazing collection of aircraft, the Museum runs a nationally recognized space and aviation technology program for 4th thru 8th graders and it is used by many schools in the area.

Mercy Housing and Shelter

The Sisters of Mercy have dedicated their lives to the service of the poor, the sick, and the uneducated.
The Mercy Shelter provides a continuum of care for homeless individuals and families to help them make the transition from loneliness and isolation to becoming self-supporting, contributing members of the community.
